Ribbit Rapids

Ribbit is a small frog with a big river to cross. Hop from rock to rock down a winding valley river and get as far as you can before the water gets you.

Aim anywhere with the mouse, hold to charge, and let go to jump. A ring shows exactly where you’ll land — green for a rock, red for water — so every miss is your own. Walk around on a rock with W A S D to line up the perfect hop, and jump in any direction: forward, sideways, even back.

NUMBERED LEVELS. Each level ends at a big landing stone with a signpost, and every level turns the screws a little: level 2 brings mossy rocks that sink once you land on them, level 3 adds logs that drift with the current (and carry you with them), then longer jumps, smaller rocks, and on it goes. Clear a level and you get a life back. Levels you reach are unlocked, so you can start from a later one next time.

THE RIVER. Sandy banks, reeds, boulders, a valley on both sides, and water that goes from pale shallows to deep blue. The time of day drifts as you travel: morning, noon, sunset, night, and round again. Fireflies hover over the rocks off the main path — a detour that’s worth extra points.

THREE DIFFICULTIES. Easy (5 lives), Normal (3) and Hard (2), which also change how wide the gaps are and how often the tricky rocks show up. Land dead-centre for a Perfect and chain them for bigger bonuses.
